Chassidishe Yom Tov Project

So, I was approached by a principal from one of the large Crown Heights Chedarim to create a Chassidishe Yomei Dipagra display for their bulletin board. The idea intrigued me and I tested it out by designing a set for Elul.

I had already made several resources, pop-out cards and such, for some of the Chassidishe Yomim Tovim so I was excited that this project could be something for the whole year. I added the idea of having matching cards to each Yomei Dipagra that children would be excited to collect.

I was the designer, and the principal was the toichen director and together we turned this idea into a meaningful and brilliant resource for all teachers and parents. It took some time to get the initial design up and running and as we went along I added nekudos for easy reading.

For School and Home

In school, I hang up the display in the hallway, but it can also be used in individual classrooms. Not only that but I printed a set for my house and hung it up there as well. It’s so fun to see the children crowding around and discussing the board.

There are several ways to use the cards.

  1. Simply print and hand out each Yomei Dipagra. Take it up a notch by having some sort of album the children can collect it in.
  2. Using the Collectors Page (provided) children can paste the card onto each month’s template page.
  3. Or my favorite, hole punch the corner of each card and children collect it on a key ring.
