Sketches in Tanya and Sefer HaMitzvos

“What is this sketches thing?” you ask.

So, let me tell you. It all began a number of years ago in my classroom. I was teaching the Alter Rebbe’s Tanya, as it was divided by the daily Chitas, to my Cheder students. I didn’t want to just be in front of the classroom yammering, so, as I taught the Chitas I would sketch a comic on the board. The kids really liked it.

At the time I was working on publishing a game and I was listening to a podcast and learning things. The host was interviewing a fellow who challenged himself to sketch a comic daily and shared it. The light bulb moment! Putting 2 and 2 together with a holy twist, I decided to challenge myself and draw a sketch on the daily Tanya and share it.

Once Sketches in Tanya was up and running and growing successfully, someone put it in my head (maybe it was me) that Tanya is nice but you can do even more. So I really pushed myself the next year and started Sketches in Sefer HaMitzvos.

That’s the story in a nutshell. I would really love for you to join us. Click the links below for each group.
